Turned down the role of Theoden in The Lord of the Rings so he could reprise the role of Buster Kilrain in Gods and Generals (2003), and the role went to Bernard Hill instead. He was an actor and director, known for Gettysburg (1993), Thirteen Days (2000) and Invincible (2006). He was married to Mila Burnette.
